LG presented Optimus G

This has been good month for LG. Not only they made LG Optimus Vu globally available, they also released the biggest ultra deffinition TV a week ago and they are not stopping there. Optimus G is the newest member of the LG smartphone family. It's an Android smartphone with support for LTE.

This smartphone has 4.7 inch trueHD IPS+ screen with resolution of 1280 x 768, and it should be super bright with one of the best and most vivid colors ever seen. It is rumored that this screen will be used on the newest iPhone.

Optimus G is practically a monster with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core (1,5 GHz) processor, 2 GB RAM memory and the astonishing 13 megapixel camera. The front camera has standard resolution of 1,3 megapixel. It runs on Android 4,0.

It will be available in South Korea from September, and it is expected to be available in US in October. The price is not known yet. Take a look to one of the few teaser videos released by LG, they will release 4 more and the next one is scheduled for 31 of August.

Review of ASUS X54C

If you looking for a great notebook for a reasonable price then maybe the best solution is the model X54C from the Taiwanese multinational company ASUS.

I needed a notebook who'll be fast, simple, and which I'll use for work mainly, but also for playing games and entertainment. I searched the computer market in my country for one month, as I was limited with funds and I needed something affordable, but good.

Long story short, ASUS X54C was the best solution! Why? It was 50 euros cheaper from all the other models in his class, and it had 2 GB RAM memory more. Also my X54C has 2 years warranty (notebooks from other brands, besides Dell, didn't have warranty).

Specifications:

Processor:

Intel® Core™ i3 - 2350M CPU @ 2.30 GHz
Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor
Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core Processor

Memory:

DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM, 2 GB, OnBoard Memory, 1 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 6 GB SDRAM
DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM, 4 GB, OnBoard Memory, 1 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 GB SDRAM

Display:

15.6" 16:9 HD (1366x768) LED Backlight

Graphics:

Integrated Intel® HD Graphics 3000

The bold specs are the configuration I got. Asus X54C also got all the other normal features like HDMI port, and USB 3.0 port which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0.

Stuff i like:

1. The IceCool Technology. The notebook rarely gets hot, and that is because of the exclusive dual-sided motherboard design that places hot components on the underside and away from users.

2. The touch pad. It has the best and most sensitive touch pad that I ever used. I always used mouse on other lap tops I had, that is not the case with X54C.

3. Power 4 Gear - Manual adjustment of the computer speed which enables you to safe battery life.

4. The graphic card and the memory enables me to play my favorite games like PES 2012, NBA 2K 12, Need for Speed etc.

5. The notebook comes with a dvd disc in which ASUS put all of the needed things for the computer to work neatly. There are some cool features like Face LogOn, Sonic Focus and Instant On.

Stuff I don't like are little. I don't like that there are only two USB ports and that computer is a bit slow when it is in Battery Saving mode (which is normal).

So that's it. If you have the same needs as me, and the simmiliar budget like me (I bought it for 400 euros) don't hesitate to buy this nice and great notebook.

Do you want to buy 10 megabyte disk drive? It will cost you $950! Look at some older interesting computer ads...

If you want to make sure that the technology is advancing and developing with unbelievable speed, just look at this ads from the 80s and 90s. Those who were born in 70s, 80s and 90s will surely remember some of the products.

First, look at this ad for a hard drive with, for that time unbelievable, 10 Mbyte of space, for unbelievable $950 nowadays. But, with a 2 years warranty. :)

10 megabytes are too little for you? Here is a hard disk of 15 megabytes to add 15 million characters. For "just" $2,500.

Remember these amazing 3MB diskettes that came in packages of 10 pieces. The whole package was really useful to record tons of games and software.

What do you think of a portabal printer? This crazy idea seems to be operated only in the 80s. Then, for only $600 you could bring your own "small" printer at work, school, or perhaps to a business meeting.

About thirty years ago the modern successful businessman had a phone ... a real fix phone ... and ... 5 inch monitor and keyboard.

Also in the 80s there were hipsters :)

Wtf is electronic mail?

The ad below is for Interlude, one of the first sex video games from Apple. Both partners tell the computer in what kind of mood they are, and the software gives a scenario with instructions on how to proceed, for example, "place roses on the bed and surprise your lady when you get out of the bathroom."

Apple were always creative..

But Microsoft were always sexier..

You can check out a lot more pics here.
