First you need to put the url of your website and then the app will crawl to the whole website downloading and following all internal links it can find. Dr Link Check considers all internal links - links that are on the same domain as the start URL. External links (pointing to other sites) are checked for existence, but are not further crawled.
Dr Link Check is in beta version and the app currently is limited. It checks 1000 links and after that the check automatically stops. Of course we checked hightechholic. It had 9 broken external links and we removed them all. We are thankful for this.
