Intel enters the smartphone market

Intel, the multinational microprocessor giant, few days ago announced that they gonna enter the smartphone market. But don't get overreacted, for now their new smartphone will be only available in India.

The name of the phone is Xolo X900, and will be the first Android smartphone powered by an Intel Atom processor. The other specifications are: 4-inch (1024x600 pixels) display, 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, a secondary 1.3-megapixel unit on the front, 1.6 GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, NFC, Wi-Fi and GPS. Xolo X900 will have Android 2.3, but will be upgraded to 4.0 ICS.

Xolo X900 will be produced by the Indian manufacturer of smart phones, Lava, and will be sold at a price of $420, which is almost twice cheaper than the price of iPhone 4S in India. For now this smart phone will be sold only in India but in a near future the phone will be presented in other countries.

Smart move by Intel, as they sensed that the future of the technology is in the smartphone market. I think that it will be a quality and fast product, as they are the best in the semiconductor chip business.
