Apple will (not) invest in Twitter

First, the New York Times reported that Apple is considering an investment in Twitter, and later the Wall Street Journal denied this.

Sources of the Times are speaking about strategic investment worth several hundred million dollars, and they think that this investment would allow Apple a penetration into the sphere of social networks.

Times reported..

"While Apple has been hugely successful in selling phones and tablets, it has little traction in social networking, which has become a major engine of activity on the Web and on mobile devices. Social media are increasingly influencing how people spend their time and money — an important consideration for Apple, which also sells applications, games, music and movies."

However, sources of the Wall Street Journal are saying that there were talks about this, but a year ago, and now there are no formal arrangements for investment.

What heated the buzz are the good relations between this two companies. We all know that Apple deeply integrated Twitter into its mobile operating system, and people from Twitter see Apple as a natural ally in the fight against Facebook and Google, the Wall Street Journal stated.

However, at least for now, there is not going to be "Twapple", how the potential collaboration was called by the site AllThingsD.
