Smartphone with radiation detector..

Japanese mobile operator, Softbank Corp., announced today that in their phone offer they will have a device which measures the level of radiation, the Reuters news agency stated.

After last year's event in Fukushima there are concerns about radiation, and the phone that will be offered by the mentioned operator has an embedded IC chip to measure the radiation level.

Sharp Pantone 5 107SH, as the name of this model is, will work on Android 4.0 and will have 3.7-inch screen, 4 megapixel resolution camera, and will be resistant to water and dust, it was announced in the Verge.

It will be available in eight colors. It's expected to hit the market in June, but the price is not known.  However, the most of the sources say that it'll be affordable.

The smartphone is solid enough even without the radiation feature and I don't know why a whole smartphone is made for this. :) Is it some marketing trick?  I'm referring to the iPhone port that also measures radiation.
