Yahoo decided to shut down Meme. So, Yahoo Meme thus became another project from the social network field that didn't have success.
Yahoo has announced that the service will be shut down 25th May, and that on 25th April will be read-only, that means entering a new content will not be possible
Yahoo Meme was launched in 2009, and on Meme the users were able to make a page where they would upload photos, links, video material, which other users can comment and also post. The Verge categorized Meme as something between Twitter and Tumblr.
"We want to thank all users who were part of this community and we hope that we will be seeing each other on the other Yahoo products," says the official statement.
